Colorado State University faculty designed these courses to serve veterinarians and veterinary technicians that are renewing their license and seeking professional development. Individual courses are listed first followed by courses grouped by specialized topic areas.

You will be given access to the online materials for 12 weeks from the date of enrollment in order to complete the course. Extensions are not granted.

General Courses

Animal Behavior

These courses are aimed at giving you workable solutions to common problems of companion animals, advising you which situations are too difficult or dangerous to work with, and when referral to a behaviorist makes the most sense.

Beyond Clinical Skills

These courses cover non-clinical competencies fundamental to the success of veterinarians.

Poisonous Plants

These courses cover the fundamentals of poisonous plants affecting both large and small animal species.

Spanish for Veterinarians

Take your language learning beyond ordering from a menu and asking for directions. This practical curriculum is designed to prepare you to interact with Spanish-speaking clients in a professional capacity. Each course focuses on a different phase of the client interaction, with emphasis on specialized language and terminology. You'll build fluency through a combination of didactic materials, sound files and interactive flash cards.

Swine Medicine

These courses cover fundamental information on swine production and common disease problems of pigs in North America. Topics include: diseases of commercial swine based on their importance to the swine industry; advantages, disadvantages, and societal concerns around confinement operations, farrowing crates, and intensified husbandry; and basic nutritional and immunization needs of pet miniature pigs.
