Degree Requirements and Curriculum

Requirements

This degree completion program requires you to have completed at least 60 semester hours of transferable college credit at the community college level with a GPA of 2.0 or better or have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree at a Colorado community college. Although this program works particularly well for students who have completed an associate degree in this field, an associate's degree is not required for admittance into this program.

You need a minimum of 120 credits to complete this Liberal Arts degree. A minimum of 42 credits must be upper-division (300- to 400-level) with 30 of those upper-division credits completed through Colorado State University after formal admission. The number of courses you will need to complete your degree will depend primarily on how many previous credits transfer. The program's duration will vary because this online degree completion is tailored to meet your schedule, your learning style, and your intensity of study.

Curriculum

Courses are offered during the fall and spring semesters only.

The Learning Experience

This online degree completion program permits you to take the required courses in the order that best suits your needs. You have the flexibility to get the degree you want without a strict timeline or schedule of completing the courses. Although this degree offers flexibility, it still requires the same amount of work and time as an on-campus program. It is recommended to spend nine to twelve hours per week on a three-credit course. This will vary depending on your learning and studying style.

There is an average class size of 25 students per class, which gives you more attention from the experienced university faculty. Your interactions with the faculty and fellow students depends on the specific course, but online courses do provide you with online office hours, email contact information as well as discussion board postings.
