Did you know that to become Fire Chief, you only need to have a Bachelor’s Degree? There are many other opportunities for career advancement and promotion for you after completing this FESA undergraduate degree completion program. You will be able to utilize the skills and expertise you acquire from this undergraduate completion program immediately in life-saving situations on the job. The education you receive from the FESA degree courses will be useful information that you can use the day you learn it.

You will gain the skills and knowledge you need to assume administrative, management, and leadership positions in a wide variety of fire protection, prevention, emergency medical, and emergency preparedness services. With an understanding of the evolving requirements of emergency services and a solid base in planning, evaluation, and oversight, you will be prepared to advance to management and administrative roles in the fire and emergency services as:

This degree completion program is beneficial to you if you have an interest in fire and emergency services and want to increase your opportunities for raises and promotions. You will receive a well-rounded background in emergency services, which can help you earn an administrative professional position within your fire or emergency services field.

Degree at a Glance

Delivery

DVD and online. Courses use a combination of DVD lectures supported by online resources. On-campus attendance is not required to complete this program.

Total Credits

120 credits (a minimum of 60 credits must be transferred into the program).

Tuition

$280 per credit. All courses require the purchase of textbooks. Some courses require the purchase of a DVD lecture set.

Time Frame

Can be completed in two years; most students require three to four years. Most FESA students are currently employed professionals who take an average of two courses per semester. The program completion time is heavily influenced by the number of transfer credits so students are encouraged to take advantage of all opportunities for transfer credit.

Fire and emergency services professionals looking to advance their careers with increased administrative, management, and leadership skills.

Typical students are currently employed as career or volunteer firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, fire/building inspectors or trainers.

What You Will Earn

You will earn the same regionally accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those given to on-campus students.
