Degree Overview
This specialization is designed for individuals preparing for leadership positions in education. Throughout the course work for this degree, you will:
- Develop the leadership skills to direct educational programs.
- Become facilitators of educational change.
- Implement new approaches to solving the problems confronting education.
The program will foster an understanding of strong pedagogical skills, as well as a deep understanding of effective theories of learning. The program will strive to meet the growing needs of schools for highly qualified teachers, including those in high-demand areas such as science, technology, engineering, and math.

Longmont, CO. On-campus attendance is required to complete this program.
Total Credits
– 24 credits for the principal licensure
– 36 credits for the M.Ed. and principal licensure
Tuition/Fees
$355 per credit (financial aid available)
Time Frame
Program can be completed in one year. Summer courses are required to complete this program. As a cohort program, the same group of students begins, proceeds through, and completes the program together. The next cohort begins Summer 2010.
Designed For
This program is designed for two different audiences:
Individuals who have a master's degree and are only seeking a principal licensure.
OR
Individuals seeking a master's degree in Educational Leadership, Renewal and Change as well as a principal licensure.
What You Will Earn
You will earn the same regionally accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those given to on-campus students.
