The Learning Experience
The course work of this degree develops a comprehensive and progressive knowledge base concerning community colleges, effective teaching, and student learning, with a focus on a commitment to the critical engagement of diversity. The courses in this doctoral degree give you the flexibility to get the degree you want without a strict timeline, but keep in mind it still requires the same amount of work and time as an on-campus program. It is recommended to allow nine to twelve hours per week for a three-credit course. This will vary depending on your learning and studying style.
Your interactions with the faculty and fellow students depends on the specific course, but online and distance courses do provide you with online office hours, email contact information as well as discussion board postings. By working in collaboration with your peers, you will engage in class assignments and projects that are designed to be applied immediately to your professional challenges and personal goals.
