Degree Overview
The Master of Agriculture in Agricultural Extension Education is an interdisciplinary professional degree, not a science-based degree program. The program is administered within the College of Agricultural Sciences in cooperation with several departments within and outside the college so you can explore course work far beyond the study of agriculture and Extension. This interdisciplinary program provides maximum flexibility in curriculum, allowing you to select courses to suit your goals and interests.
There are not very many programs across the nation that offer this degree in Agricultural Extension Education, especially online or at a distance. This degree is a great way to further your education and advance your career if you are an Extension professional, no matter what your particular field is. This graduate degree will give you skills and knowledge in teaching and extension methods and adult education to help you pursue your career goals. You will learn how to be a better educator and learn more about your job, including teaching and interacting with adults.
This online graduate program allows you to earn your degree while keeping your job, staying in your hometown, and keeping your family responsibilities. Each program can be individually designed to meet your professional needs and specific goals. You may select Plan A, which requires applied research and a formal thesis, Plan B, which requires a scholarly paper, or Plan C, which is course work only and is available as a terminal degree. This Master of Agriculture degree provides a broader area of study than research-oriented Master of Science degrees.
