Before applying to the degree program, it is strongly recommended that you contact the program coordinator well in advance of the application deadline to understand and fulfill all requirements.

Minimum Admission Requirements
The Adult Education and Training (M.Ed.) degree requires applicants to have the following:
- A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Applicants whose GPA is lower than 3.0 must demonstrate their potential for academic success by providing additional evidence such as:
- Additional letters of reference indicating strong potential for successfully completing the master's program.
- 5 years of relevant work experience shown on a resume.
- Completion of six credits of graduate level classes after the bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- GRE scores are not required.
Please note that meeting the minimum department standards does not ensure admission to the program. Admission to Colorado State University graduate programs is based on a number of factors, including prior academic and professional experience and the personal statement.
Step 1 – Apply Online
- Complete the online graduate application form and pay the $50 application
fee (payable online with a major credit card).
- Select “Educ & Human Resource Studies (School of Ed) MED” when choosing the Program of Study.
- Submit your Resume and Statement of Purpose online when you complete the application form. For tips on completing these forms, see below.

Include in your statement:- Reasons for seeking the specialization;
- Your views of learning as an adult;
- What you bring to our community of learners;
- A summary of your long-term professional, educational or personal goals;
- Your professional commitment to your field of study;
- How the program will meet your goals;
- Your expectations for the program; and
- The factors that led you to consider Colorado State University for graduate study.

Show dates and job duties of all professional employment.
Step 2 – Submit Application Materials
Gather the following materials and mail in one package:
- Three Letters of Recommendation
Letters from people who are able to speak to your current or potential instructional abilities should be sent in sealed envelopes. - Official Transcripts
Include two official transcripts of all collegiate work completed from every institution attended, whether or not you received a degree from those institutions. Official transcripts must be mailed from each previous institution to Colorado State University. Transcripts from Colorado State University are not required.
International Applicants Only
Include the following items in addition to those listed above:

Ensure official copies include a certified translation into English (only one set of transcripts is required). - Official TOEFL Scores
Submit official TOEFL scores through the Educational Testing Service (select institution code: 4075).In general, all applicants from countries in which English is not the official language, and who do not have an undergraduate degree from a country in which the official language is English (Canada, U.K., Australia, USA, New Zealand, etc.) must submit TOEFL scores. The minimum score for applicants is 550 (213 on the computer-based test).
