BMS 230 (Animal Anatomy and Physiology) or BMS 300 (Principles of Human Anatomy and Physiology). Credit not allowed for both VS 331 and BMS 330 (Microscopic Anatomy).
Description
This course is a study of the structure and function of cells, tissues, and organs. Particular emphasis is placed on observations at light microscopic level. The course uses hundreds of high-resolution photographs and images of human and domestic animal tissues. Laboratories involve finding and identifying histological structures at low, medium, high, and oil immersion views.
This online course is offered in Summer and Fall of each year. It is not available during Spring semester.

Dr. Kristy Dowers is an assistant professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. She received her DVM degree at CSU in 1997 and her board certification in the specialty of small animal internal medicine in 2002. She supervises students, interns and residents on their clinic rotations at the CSU Veterinary Medical Center and teaches didactic lectures in the Professional Veterinary Medicine Program.
