OSHR 1700 - Doodling with Da Vinci (Short Course)

Noncredit / Spring 2008

Delivery/Location: Fort Collins

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

Da Vinci (born 1452; died 1519) is regarded as the true "Renaissance Man." Among other activities, he was an artist, anatomist, engineer, inventor... Not only did Da Vinci leave us with exquisite works of art such as the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, he left a number of notebooks, containing sketches and scientific diagrams, together with notes reflecting his thoughts in a number of fields. Clearly his ideas were ahead of his time; you can even track an idea for what seems to be a helicopter.

You will learn more about the man through his sketches - particular examples will be shared. In a portion of the course, you will be asked to "doodle" along with DaVinci. You may not become an accomplished artist; but you will learn a strategy for putting your own ideas on paper.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
