This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.
Do you hope to travel to a Spanish speaking country at some point? This course will help you acquire a basic knowledge of vocabulary and the structure of the language. You will acquire beginning language skills that should be useful when traveling and will gain fundamental cultural awareness. Those having no Spanish background, as well as a bit of prior background, are welcome to take this class. It is designed for beginners.
Note: This class also meets on Wednesday evenings.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
Instructors
Flora Teran Sainz is a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Bolivia. She has lived in Fort Collins for 30+ years and is fluent in English. Ms. Teran earned her Master of Arts in Spanish Literature, with an emphasis in teaching, at the University of Northern Colorado. She has experience in teaching Spanish at UNC, Front Range Community College, Fort Collins School District, and for various adult education programs. Ms. Teran is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit agency Village Earth.
