Delivery/Location: Correspondence
Integrating knowledge of child development with early childhood teaching skills is the focus of this course. Students study the principles of designing and evaluating programs that are developmentally appropriate for children. Developing curriculum that is physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and creatively appropriate will be covered.
Students must work in an early childhood setting or volunteer at least 24 hours in a group setting for children age two to six years. Eight written assignments and one proctored exam are required.
This course is approved by the State of Colorado to help students qualify for certification in Child Care Training.
