FESA 432 - Fire and Emergency Services Budgeting

FESA 333 (Proposals/Reports in Fire Service Management) and FESA 336 (Fire and Emergency Servcies Administration).

Description

Application of emergency service budgeting systems with emphasis on revenues, public financial controls, capital funding and performance measures. This course emphasizes the critical linkages of organizational performance measures and out comes to the budgetary process. Students will learn how different budget systems are employed, the various sources of municipal revenues, and methodologies for costing out various levels of service.

Jones is the Fire Chief and Emergency Manager for the City of Evans, Colorado. Prior to his service with the City of Evans, he served 27 years with Poudre Fire Authority in Fort Collins, CO. In his over 30 years of fire and emergency services experience, Chief Jones has worked in all areas of the fire service including operations, training, administration, fire prevention and emergency management. He has extensive ICS experience in many ICS positions and as the incident commander of large fires, hazardous materials incidents and natural disasters. He is a member of the Eastern Colorado Type III incident Management Team and is a USFA All Hazard Incident Management Team instructor.
