FESA 333 - Proposals/Reports in Fire Service Management

This course will provide administrators in the fire and emergency services with the written communication skills to develop written proposals. Included are an introduction to research techniques, Internet and library use, and conventions of documentation.

Mary Sovick is the owner of Fireline Training and Consulting and developer of "Ignite Your Writing" training seminars. Sovick is a retired firefighter from South Metro (Denver) Fire Department and an adjunct instructor at Colorado State University and the National Fire Academy. Sovick is a board member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. She is a member of the American Society of Training and Development and belongs to the National Fire Academy Alumni Association.

In addition to presenting "Ignite Your Writing" seminars, her professional services include teaching adult instruction workshops, speaking at regional and national conferences, providing program development services, editing various fire department projects and emergency operational plans and consulting with fire departments for development and evaluation of written components of promotional exams and assessment centers. She has written extensively on the need to elevate writing standards in the fire service.
