Description
An introduction to basic and intermediate Excel concepts and skills, preparing the student for MBA coursework using Excel as a tool. This is an introductory course directed to students with little to no knowledge of Excel, as well as students who need a review of the intermediate skills needed for MBA level coursework. Topics include, but are not limited to Excel 2007 overview, working with existing spreadsheets, modifying existing spreadsheets, building worksheets including spreadsheet design, using Excel functions and charting, and using Excel with other Microsoft 2007 Office programs. Problems representative of the functional areas of business covered in MBA courses are featured in the applications of Excel. The Excel tutorial is found in RamCT along with your other MBA program courses.

Course Learning Objectives
•To understand the concept of spreadsheets and their uses in business.
•To gain practical skills in spreadsheet design, construction and manipulation.
•To use spreadsheet to represent data and transform that data into useful information for the analysis of business problems.

There are no textbooks or additional materials for this tutorial. The professor recommends either “Excel 2007 for Dummies” by Greg Harvey or Microsoft’s “Office Excel 2007 – Step by Step” by Curtis D. Frye.
