This course is designed to introduce students of various experience levels with focus on project managers and project coordinators with less than 3 years experience on a project team or managing projects or programs. It is a great way to learn more about the world of project management through a detailed approach filled with real world practical examples of project management processes, methods, tools, and techniques.
Course Objectives:
- Learn strong project management discipline
- Increase project management knowledge and skill beyond the basics
- Break into teams and pick a project for the duration of class (8 weeks)
- Rotate the role of the project manager (PM) on team exercises
- Apply section learning points to team project activities
- Increase understanding of project team dynamics
- Address the full range of project management life cycle from Charter (beginning) to Close
- Learn the importance of good two-way communication
- Increase focus on Scope and Risk Management
- Demonstrate improved ability to reach higher levels of success on your projects (or programs)
