BSLL 1078 - Training Skills for Supervisors

Noncredit / Fall 2009

Supervisors are increasingly asked to serve as trainers to their staff. Good training is more than telling employees what to do. It's about helping employees "learn" new tasks and responsibilities. Experienced trainers know how to plan a training session; capture the attention of the audience; present information in a logical manner; and conduct exercises that enable employees to practice tasks in the training session.

  • Self-preparation/research

  • 10 Opening Activities
  • How to manage breaks
  • 10 PowerPoint Killers

  • "Ending the Discussion" exercise
  • "Quieting the "Talker'" exercise
