BSLL 1073 - Facilitating Small and Large Group Discussions

This course covers the essentials of "reading" an audience, handling tough questions, and working with a partner. Special features include strategies for dividing people into groups for purposes of discussion, rejuvenation, or even consensus building around hostile issues. The course teaches facilitators how to use the 'edges' of a room and ways of using body language to encourage group participation. Good visual aids tremendously help to increase communication. This class teaches how PowerPoint presentations can be improved via readability, visibility and pacing.
