Program Outline
The seven-unit program follows the guidelines from the PMI, which also awards designations for Project Management Professionals (PMP).
- Unit 1 - Project Planning and Scope Management
This module reviews the five basic project scope management processes: scope planning, scope definition, project change control, work breakdown structure, and project plan development, as well as ethics and professionalism. - Unit 2 - Cost and Time Management
Find out how to develop and calculate schedules using PERT/CPM techniques. Also covered are techniques for estimating, budgeting, monitoring and analyzing costs and the basics of earned-value. - Unit 3 - Risk Management
Learn to take a proactive approach to threat and opportunity based on a clear understanding of the powerful nature of both qualitative and quantitative approaches. - Unit 4 - Human Resources/ Communications
We will explore the various leadership styles, ways to build high-performance teams, innovative methods to resolve conflict, effective motivation concepts, and communication techniques. - Unit 5 - Quality Management
Discover how quality planning,assurance and control concepts integrate with project management practices to create a system for implementing quality management at the process and project levels. - Unit 6 - Contracts and Procurement
Gain an overview of all phases of contracting, including requirements development, solicitation, administration and closeout. Select the right types of contracts for your project. - Unit 7 - Integration of Project Management Concepts
Get the skills necessary to integrate and apply the concepts presented in this series, using a customized case study. - Program Project
Throughout the program, you will complete a project that integrates and applies lessons from each unit. By the time you graduate, your resulting work is a portfolio piece that demonstrates your competency as a Project Manager.
