School/Community Safety Certificate 
Individuals who are passionate about improving safety in their communities and schools by bringing about transformation on a social, environmental, emotional, physical and spiritual level would greatly benefit from this graduate-level program. You will explore key areas such as: crime prevention, child protection, anti-bullying, anti-social behavior, drug and substance abuse prevention, and other areas including best practices.
Program Curriculum
This certificate program comprises coursework from the School of Education and Department of Psychology.
The courses in this graduate certificate program can also be applied as electives to the distance Masters of Education degree in Adult Education & Training or the on-campus Education Leadership degree.
The School/Community Safety Certificate program made me consider the topic of community safety in a completely different way! The content ranged from school security to health promotion models, and the fact that I could engage with experts in these diverse fields online was a wonderful opportunity.
