Certificate Overview
Statistics is the science of collection, organization, analysis, and explanation of data. In this series of four courses, students gain an introduction to probability and statistical theory, a two-term sequence on data analysis, and additional training in multivariate analysis, spatial analysis, or environmental statistics.
In its August 2009 article, For Today's Graduate, Just One Word: Statistics, The New York Times recognized statistics as a growing field noting "The rising stature of statisticians [...] is a byproduct of the recent explosion of digital data."
This Applied Statistics and Data Analysis Certificate provides professionals and graduate students in diverse fields with a short-term training program to improve their statistical and data analysis skills.
This certificate is a companion to the Statistics Master's Degree and certificate courses can be applied toward that degree.
