New Ph.D. Degree to be Offered at Brighton Learning Center in Spring 2010
Posted Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Colorado State University Continuing Education will expand its offering of its Ph.D. degree in Education and Human Resource Studies in Organizational Performance and Change to the Brighton area this spring.
The seven-semester degree program is offered by Colorado State University faculty at the Brighton Learning and Resource Campus at 1850 Egbert Street. The degree has been created for senior organizational leaders who seek to develop skills and competencies to improve organizational effectiveness, enhance decision making skills, and enhance analysis and research expertise. The program, which meets for five Saturdays per semester, is ideal for executives and senior managers who are looking to obtain an advanced degree while they continue to work.
"Colorado State faculty are world-renowned experts in organizational performance and change," said Dr. Jerry W. Gilley, professor and program chair. "We are pleased to bring this program to Brighton and equip area leaders and executives with the skills and training they need to excel in today’s challenging business and institutional environments."
While this program is strongly grounded in organizational, strategic, and change management theory, the curriculum is focused on practical, growth-oriented activities to ensure educational relevance and applicability in the workplace. Strong theory-to-practice models are used to provide students advanced research competencies, the ability to manage change effectively, and skills to improve the performance and effectiveness of their organizations immediately.
"We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring Colorado State's high-quality faculty and academic programs to Brighton and the surrounding communities," said Hunt Lambert, associate provost of Continuing Education. "CSU is committed to supporting the flow of talent to the workforce and meeting the educational needs of our communities."
