Welcome from the Associate Provost
Continuing Education is proud to match off-campus market needs with the proven education capabilities of CSU as a Carnegie Class 1 Research university. Now, more than any time in history, education must be made available to those who cannot or choose not to attend the campus setting.
At Continuing Education, we serve the 250,000 learners in Colorado who want to advance their personal, civic, and economic value while staying in their communities. We do this by understanding needs, working with colleges and departments to offer educational opportunities in remote classrooms, through online technology and in blended classroom and online forms. Together we fulfill the promise of CSU's 21st century land grant mission.
Our partners include community colleges, industry, public sector and non-profit organizations. Through these relationships, Continuing Education can better serve the needs of employers while also serving the needs of students. Our emerging partnership with University of Northern Colorado, Front Range Community College and Aims Community College is built to assure that together we are serving the workforce development needs of northern Colorado. Located at Centerra in Loveland, the joint service includes a partnership with McWhinney based on their goal of building lifelong learning into the Centerra community.
In partnership with the Institute of Learning and Teaching (TILT), Continuing Education and CSU faculty use the best in the world’s synchronous, asynchronous, online and classroom instruction to offer students a high quality education combined with the benefits of the traditional campus, such as library services. Courses developed with TILT meet universal design standards and offer a state-of-the-art environment for both faculty-to-student and student-to-student interaction.
CSU's new master's degree in Systems Engineering perfectly illustrates Continuing Education's mission. We orchestrated a new degree offering by understanding industry partner needs, working with the College of Engineering, and using advanced technology capabilities. Put together with a bit of creativity, we are able to offer CSU's amazing faculty and an amazing education experience in classroom, asynchronous delivery, and synchronous delivery all at the same time so students can choose the learning modes each week that fit their work and travel requirements. Supported by an endowment from the Woodward Governor Company, this offering is well timed and perfectly packaged for workforce needs, while reflecting the disciplinary excellence of the College and its research base.Continuing Education at Colorado State University is here for you today, and we will continue to be here to provide learning that fits your life.
